Three New Guinness World Records

Here’s a world record that seems easy enough to break. Guinness World Records said a record was set when 265 people were gathered online to make heart gestures with their hands simultaneously. The record-keeping organization said the Chinese office of Johnson & Johnson Vision recruited 265 participants to make the gesture into their webcams. The participants included eye care workers, cataract patients and Johnson & Johnson employees.

A pair of Idaho neighbors captured a festive Guinness World Record when they covered an entire boy in gift wrap in under two minutes. David Rush, who has broken more than 200 Guinness records to promote STEM education, teamed up with neighbor Lisa Marie Hannon to cover Hannon’s son, Joey, in wrapping paper. Rush said Guinness rules required Joey to be covered head to toe in gift wrap with his arms and legs wrapped individually. The rules also required the wrapping to be completed without any of the paper tearing. The neighbors managed to finish their wrapping in 1 minute, 43 seconds, beating the previous record of 1 minute, 58.9 seconds.

A Chinese woman holds the Guinness World Record for largest collection of snow globes — 4,238 pieces. She says she’s running out of room in her home. 50-year-old Wendy Suen of Shanghai has held the record for largest collection of snow globes since 2005, when her collection numbered 904 globes.

… Suen estimated she has spent about $165,000 on snow globes over the years. She said the most pricey piece in her collection is a Louis Vuitton-designed globe that cost her about $9,900.
