Bills Fans Have Donated Over $40K to a Visual Impairment Charity to Tease “Blind” Officials
The Buffalo Bills have been in a slide recently, but their fans are blaming their loss to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Bucs a few weeks ago on the REFS, which they say missed several costly pass interference penalties.
And they’re so upset, that they’re TEASING those “blind” officials by making donations to Vision Impairment Advancement . . . a local nonprofit supporting people with vision loss. Get it?
Most of the donations are coming through in $17 increments, because 17 is the jersey number of Bills quarterback Josh Allen. (Of course, those officials may better remember him as #11, #77, or number #1177.) (???)
Obviously, this is a stunt, but it IS helping people in need. So far, the fans have raised over $40,000, which is pretty incredible. And it isn’t over yet, local reports expect the final number to be “much higher.”
The “Bills Mafia” has been charitable before . . . in 2018, after then-Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton beat the Baltimore Ravens to send the Bills to the playoffs, Buffalo fans donated over $100,000 to Dalton’s charity.
And in 2019, they donated $1.4 million to Buffalo’s Children’s Hospital after the death of Josh Allen’s grandmother.
