Olympics Highlights: Did Nathan Chen and Chloe Kim Win Gold?

The U.S. Olympic team had a chance to add to their medal count last night.  So how’d we do?

Nathan Chen took home the gold in men’s figure skating.  He set a world record earlier this week with his short program and just needed to do well in last night’s free skate to take home a medal.  But he was essentially flawless and easily secured the gold.

And he wasn’t the only star for Team USA. Chloe Kim also defended her gold in women’s halfpipe.

That helped the U.S. in the overall medal count . . . we’re currently in fifth place in the standings with 9 medals, including three golds.  Here’s the latest leaderboard we saw.  (Thursday, February 10th at 5:00 A.M. ET)

1.  Norway:  12 . . . 5 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze.

2.  Austria:  12 . . . 4 gold, 4 silver, 4 bronze.

3.  Russia:  11 . . . 2 gold, 3 silver, 6 bronze.

4.  Canada:  10 . . . 1 gold, 3 silver, 6 bronze.

5.  USA:  9 . . . 3 gold, 5 silver, 1 bronze.
