Good News: Heroic Cops, Helpful Dogs, and a Whole Lot of Hair
Here are a few more Good News stories making the rounds . . .
1. Three cops in New York pulled a guy off a set of subway tracks this week, and there’s chest-cam footage of the whole thing. It happened in the Bronx around 2:00 A.M. on Monday. He fell on the tracks, but they got him back onto the platform before the next train came. Paramedics treated him for a cut to his head.
(Warning: The footage includes an S-word at :08 and multiple F-bombs between :39 and :45. There might also be more F-words throughout. It sounds like the guy’s yelling, “Help me, please,” but it’s hard to tell.)
2. Another study found dogs are good for our mental health. A team in South Korea found spending time with them helps us relax, and also concentrate better.
3. The owners of a haircare company called The Longhairs are hoping to break their own world record tomorrow for most hair donated in 24 hours. They make hair ties for men and were featured on “Shark Tank” in 2018.
Hundreds of people in San Diego have signed up to donate their hair to make wigs for kids with cancer and alopecia. The current record set in 2019 is 339 pounds of hair in a single day. They hope to top it.
