Eight Eating Habits, Like 16% of People Prefer Chili . . . Without Beans?
Have you ever sat down next to a friend or coworker while they were eating and thought: “What are they DOING?”
A survey on eating habits posed interesting questions on food preferences . . . and this could lead to some fascinating debates. Here are a few highlights:
1. When asked if you prefer CHILI with or without beans, 55% said with beans . . . 16% said without . . . 18% had “no preference” . . . and 11% aren’t into chili.
(To me, chili without beans is . . . sauce . . . that you put on hot dogs or spaghetti. But it IS a thing. It’s called “Texas Chili“.)
2. When asked if you prefer SALMON that is cooked . . . lox, which is cured with salt . . . or raw as sushi, 48% prefer cooked salmon . . . 10% like it best as sushi . . . and 5% voted for lox. 11% had no preference, and 26% don’t like salmon.
3. On the topic of CHICKEN WINGS, 35% prefer them with bones . . . 34% like boneless wings. 19% don’t care, and 12% don’t like wings.
4. In a BREAD question that seems like it’s out of the ’60s, people were asked if they prefer white or wheat bread. 41% chose wheat bread . . . 35% said white . . . 19% don’t care . . . and 12% apparently have more eclectic bread tastes.
5. When it comes to PEANUT BUTTER, 48% want “creamy” . . . 30% prefer crunchy . . . 12% will take whatever they can get . . . and the remaining 10% chose to abstain, possibly because of a nut allergy.
6. On the topic of COFFEE, 51% add cream and/or sugar . . . 19% want it black . . . 7% claim they don’t care, which is not true. And 23% didn’t answer.
(This is surprising, because black coffee is making a big comeback. For years, plain black coffee was reserved for cowboys, farmers, goth teens, and psychopaths. But now, it’s what all the coffee connoisseurs drink.)
7. And when asked about ALCOHOL, 18% say they prefer beer . . . 17% would go with wine . . . 16% would rather drink liquor . . . 5% like to drink spiked seltzers . . . and another 5% prefer alcoholic ciders.
7% will drink anything you put in front of them, and 32% don’t drink at all.
8. On WINE specifically, 28% prefer reds . . . 18% prefer whites . . . another 18% enjoy both . . . and 36% aren’t into either.
