The people who did this only looked at curse words in English.  But I bet we’re #1 no matter what.

Someone analyzed almost two million tweets from around the globe to see which countries SWEAR the most online.  And it’s not even close, the U.S. ranks first.

They used a list of 1,600 swear words.  So, not just the big ones but a VERY large vocabulary of cussin’.  And overall, 4.2% of America’s posts include at least one dirty word.

4% might not sound like a ton.  But second place swears more than 40% less than that.  Here are the countries, states, and cities that swear the most . . .

1.  The U.S. swears in 4.2% of posts.  Then it’s the U.K., 2.9% . . . Australia, 2.7% . . . New Zealand, 2.5% . . . and Canada, a hair under 2.5%.  Kuwait ranked last.  Just 0.4% of the stuff posted in English there has swearing in it.

2.  The most foul-mouthed state is Maryland at 6.6% of all posts.  Louisiana is next at 6.2 . . . Georgia, 5.7 . . . Virginia, 4.8 . . . and Ohio, 4.7.  South Dakota swears the least at just over 2% of all posts.

3.  The most foul-mouthed major city is Baltimore at an impressive 7.8%.  So, one in every 13 tweets has a swear word.  Baton Rouge is next at 7.3% . . . Atlanta, 6.7 . . . Detroit, 6.6 . . . and Houston, 6.3%.  Lexington, Kentucky is the most PG city at just 2% of all posts.
