Someone polled 1,000 people who use dating apps, and asked for the biggest online dating “icks.” So, things that immediately turn you off. Here are the Top Five . . .
1. Negativity or bitterness. 70% said it’s an ick.
2. Heavily filtered photos, 63%. Don’t try to make yourself look TOO good.
3. Being too materialistic, 62%. Like multiple photos of you with your car.
4. A general lack of effort, 60%. So it looks like you didn’t try very hard.
5. Poor grammar or spelling, 60%. Again, you look lazy and/or dumb. If you’re not great with that stuff, just run it through a spellchecker or ChatGPT.
Now, here are the top five things that can do the opposite, and make someone immediately think you ARE worth their time . . .
1. A good sense of humor, 82%.
2. Showing off your hobbies or interests, 80%.
3. Having a good sense of style, 76%.
4. Showing an interest in travel, 71%.
5. Have a pet in at least one photo, 65%.
