The most exciting game of the NFL’s wildcard weekend was arguably the last one . . . when the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Chicago Bears.

Philadelphia scored a go-ahead touchdown with a minute left . . . but then they almost lost on a last minute, 43-yard field goal by Chicago.

The Eagles called a last second timeout to ‘ice the kicker.’  Statistically speaking, it rarely works.  But this time it did.  Bears kicker Cody Parkey actually MADE the kick that was nullified by the time out.

But when he kicked it again, he “double-doinked” the ball . . . somehow hitting both the goalpost AND the crossbar.

To make matters even worse, this  was the SIXTH time he’s missed a kick by hitting the goalpost this season, including four times in a SINGLE GAME against Detroit back in November.

But this time it wasn’t all his fault.  Eagles defensive lineman Treyvon Hester tipped the ball with his left hand.

Earlier yesterday, the L.A. Chargers eliminated the Baltimore Ravens.  The game seemed like a Chargers blowout until Baltimore rallied late, but the Ravens ran out of gas.

On Saturday night, the Dallas Cowboys came back from behind to take down the Seattle Seahawks.

Seattle’s loss ended a run of nine straight victories in playoff openers, which was the longest streak in NFL history.

And earlier Saturday, the Indianapolis Colts cruised to a victory over the Houston Texans.  The Colts jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first half, and then held on to win 21-7.

Next week, the Colts will take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, before the Cowboys face off against the L.A. Rams.

On Sunday, the Chargers will take on Bill BelichickTom Brady, and the New England Patriots, before the Eagles face the New Orleans Saints.
