Steak-Umm’s Twitter Account Just Put Out an Insightful, Existential Essay on the Social Media Generation?

I’m not sure how much more “through the looking glass” you can get than this.  An insightful essay on the social media generation and their existential drama was just published by . . . the official Twitter account for Steak-Umms?

Apparently a lot of people tweet at Steak-Umm looking for a conversation . . . or validation . . . which prompted this tweetstorm yesterday.  Here are a few highlights . . .

Quote, “Why are so many young people flocking to brands on social media for love, guidance, and attention?  I’ll tell you why.  They’re isolated from real communities, working jobs they hate . . . disenfranchised by past generations.”

“They grew up through the dawn of Internet culture . . . now they’re being resold their childhoods by remakes, sequels, spinoffs, and other cheap nostalgia, making them more cynical to growth or authenticity.”

“They often don’t have parents to talk to because they say stuff like ‘you don’t know how good you have it’ . . . they have full access to social media, but they feel more alone and insecure than ever.”

“There’s so much to process and very few trusted, accessible outlets . . . so they go to memes, they go to obscure or absurdist humor, they go to frozen meat companies on Twitter.”
