Olympics Highlights: Could China Win More Medals Than Us?

After Day 12 of the Olympics, the U.S. was still leading in overall medals.  But China was in a close second, and still leading in gold.

American wrestler Tamyra Mensah-Stock won gold in women’s freestyle yesterday.

And we picked up several medals in track-and-field, including a gold by 19-year-old Athing Mu.  (Uh-thing mo)  She won the women’s 800-meter.  Sydney McLaughlin and Dalilah Muhammad took gold and silver in the women’s 400-meter hurdles.

We also snagged a few silvers in men’s hurdles, pole vault, and women’s long jump.  And we added a bunch of bronze medals, including the one Simone Biles won in the balance beam early yesterday morning.  Here’s the latest medal count we saw.  (Wednesday, August 4th at 12:00 A.M. ET.)
