Good News: Kidneys, Church Pews, and College Students

Here are a few more good news stories making the rounds . . .

1.  A hospital in Houston pulled off a ten-person kidney swap this month.  That’s where your loved one needs a kidney, but you’re not a match.  So you donate to someone else in exchange for one.  Ten people got kidneys over the course of four days, and they’re all doing great.

2.  A video of a high school senior named Jennifer Zhang is going viral, because she applied to a bunch of Ivy League schools and kept getting rejected . . . until she opened her very last letter.  She got accepted to Penn, and will be the first person in her family to go to college.

3.  A veterinarian in Ukraine is in the news because he’s been risking his own life to rescue pets that got left behind.  He’s saved about 60 dogs and 200 cats so far.

4.  Someone surprised their grandmother by giving her one of the pews from the church she’s gone to most of her life.  She got married there, and saw her daughter get married there too.  But it recently had to be demolished, so they saved one of the pews for her.
