Good News: Giant Checks, Lucky Dogs, and Parrots on Zoom

Here are a few more Good News stories making the rounds . . .

1.  A guy named Torry Nielsen showed up at lottery headquarters in Nebraska this month to claim his TEN-DOLLAR jackpot.  He won ten bucks on a scratcher and wanted a photo with a giant check, so they played along.  When asked what he planned to do with his winnings, he said, “Let it ride.”  (Here’s a photo.)

2.  A bunch of employees for the Kansas City Royals saved a dog that climbed into a woman’s engine compartment.  It rode under her hood for a HALF-HOUR on her drive to work, but it’s okay.  They got it out and managed to track down the owners.  (Here’s a video.)

3.  A new study found parrots like Zoom.  When researchers let them make video calls and contact other birds, they showed less signs of being lonely.

4.  A set of quadruplet brothers just opened their own Jersey Mike’s franchise in New Jersey last week.  They’re 25 years old, and all worked at a Jersey Mike’s in high school.  They started talking about opening their own store back then, and finally made it happen.  (Sadly, none of them happen to be named Mike.)
