Good News: French Fries, Adoptions, and “David Hasselfluff”

Here are a few more good news stories making the rounds . . .

1.  A nine-year-old in Ohio named Blake Mompher has spina bifida and uses a wheelchair.  And McDonald’s just did something awesome for him for Halloween.  He dressed up as McDonald’s fries this year, and his costume was great.  So his local McDonald’s surprised him with free French fries for a year.  (Here’s a video.)

2.  An Australian woman who was adopted 60 years ago figured out who her biological dad was . . . found out she had three siblings in the U.K. . . . and they all just flew to Thailand to meet up for the first time.

Her name is Suzy Frazer.  There’s a video of them hugging it out at the airport, and her face is pure joy.  But the craziest part is they had another sister, who sadly passed away years ago at age 19.  And that sister’s name was also Suzy.

3.  Firefighters in Washington state saved a cat named “David Hasselfluff” from a house fire on Saturday, which happened to be National Cat Day.

4.  A wildlife photographer in Australia got a shot of a southern right whale swimming alongside a baby humpback.

The two species don’t usually cross paths or interact, but experts think the baby must have been orphaned, and the adult whale adopted it.  If so, it might be the first time it’s ever been documented.  (Here’s a photo.)
