Good News: A 13-Year-Old Is Going to Med School

Here are a few more good news stories making the rounds . . .

1.  A 13-year-old girl in Texas named Alena Wicker has become the youngest Black student to ever get into medical school.  She has been accepted into Heersink School of Medicine at the University of Alabama.  She graduated from high school last year, and has already completed two-and-a-half years of college.

2.  A campaign just launched in Minnesota that allows people to support local breweries AND dogs at the same time.  For $30, you can buy a “Sidewalk Dog” pass to visit 33 dog-friendly breweries and sample 47 free beers.  5% of the proceeds benefit the American Humane Society.

3.  Firefighters in Florida rescued a massive sea turtle . . . from someone’s back porch.  It was “peacefully returned to the ocean.”  (Here’s a photo.)
