Drew Brees is the NFL’s All-Time Passing Leader
New Orleans quarterback DREW BREES became the NFL’s all-time passing leader last night, during the Saints’ 43 to 19 win over the Washington Redskins. And the best part was, he did it at home.
Brees came into the game needing 201 yards to surpass PEYTON MANNING’s record of 71,940 yards. He got there in the second quarter, on a 62-yard touchdown pass to TRE’QUAN SMITH. He ended up with 363 yards on the night.
The game was stopped so Brees could be honored, and the president of the Pro Football Hall of Fame was there to take the ball . . . wearing white gloves, of course. (???) (Here’s video of the celebration.)
Brees actually entered the game at #3. Before passing Manning, he pushed BRETT FAVRE down to #3.
Both Manning and Favre offered their congratulations.
