Coronavirus Insanity: A Reopened Bar Closes Within 24 Hours When a Maskless Crowd Photo Goes Viral

Here’s a fresh round-up of coronavirus insanity . . .

1.  A bar called The Wharf in Fort Lauderdale, Florida reopened on Friday, and a picture of the place PACKED, with no masks in sight went viral on social media.

So the county issued them several fines on Saturday and shut them down again within 24 hours.  And now the owner says he won’t re-open until they’re allowed to have people pack the place without masks.

2.  Expect to see a LOT more stories like this soon, with businesses requiring customers to show proof they’ve been vaccinated.  Qantas Airlines says once the coronavirus vaccine is ready, you’ll need to get it before you can fly with them.

3.  Last week, Dr. Fauci joked to “USA Today” that Santa Claus doesn’t need to worry about coronavirus because he has, quote, “a lot of good innate immunity.”

So now there’s a meme on social media where people are saying we need to kidnap Santa Claus and drain his blood to get the cure.

4.  The top surgical glove company in the world, which is actually called Top Glove and is based out of Malaysia, is closing more than half its factories . . . after more than 1,000 employees tested positive for coronavirus.

5.  A guy who was caught on camera intentionally breathing on two women who were protesting outside of Trump National Golf Club in Virginia has been charged with assault.

6.  According to a study out of two universities in Europe, the business shutdowns in the U.S. earlier this year saved approximately 29,000 lives at a cost of $169 billion.  So that’s around $6 million per person.

7.  Here are the updated stats on CONFIRMED coronavirus cases as of last night.

New daily cases in the U.S.:  172,103, with 972 new deaths.

Total cases in the U.S.:  12.7 million . . . with more than 263,600 deaths . . . and more than 7.5 million who’ve now recovered.

Total cases worldwide:  59.5 million . . . with more than 1.4 million deaths . . . and more than 41.1 million people who’ve beaten the virus globally.
