The Moses Lake Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grant County Health District and many community volunteers are pleased to announce the 2nd Harvest Mobile Food Bank will arrive in Moses Lake on July 24 from 11:00am -1:00pm in the McCosh Park parking lot next to the church at 1020 South A Street. Families wishing to receive donated food need to bring a box to carry their food home. When families arrive they will sign in and no paperwork will be required.
Second Harvest’s mobile food bank program gets nutritious fresh foods to hungry people in rural and urban communities served by food pantries that lack adequate refrigeration to safely handle perishable products. “Getting donated food to where it’s needed most is one of our biggest challenges,” said Jason Clark, Second Harvest’s executive director. “The Mobile Food Bank program has helped us move thousands of pounds of food to communities throughout Eastern Washington and North Idaho. This program has been incredibly successful in getting food to hungry people.”
This is Immanuel Lutheran Church and Thrivent Financial for Lutheran’s 5th year sponsoring the Moses Lake event. The goal is to provide food to over 200 Moses Lake residents.
